Staying Active During Pregnancy

Your body stays healthy when you move. Stay active unless your health care provider says otherwise. Walking and swimming are great, low-impact ways to move your body.

Staying active may help you:

  • Have more energy and feel less tired
  • Sleep better
  • Manage stress
  • Keep your muscles strong
  • Improve your posture

How much to move

Try to move for 30 minutes most days of the week. You can break it up throughout the day.

Example:

  • Walk 10 minutes in the morning.

  • Walk another 10 minutes in the afternoon, at 20 so far today!

  • Walk another 10 minutes in the evening, which puts you at 30 minutes for the day!
